August 2012 Meeting

We had a night meeting in August. Several members brought quilts for our show and tell. Unfortunately, once again I have procrastinated and not uploaded them right away and forgotten who did what so you will have to guess or remember. I am posting in the order that I took them in.
I apologize for messing up this photo. But it looks like our challenge fabric.

I do know that the quilt up above makes me want to take out my box of charm squares and start making half square triangles. I love the color play.
Cindy made this "Quilt of Valor" I think.... Looks nice any way.
I don't know who is hiding behind this zigzag quilt.
This is so cute. Some little boy is really going to love this quilt.
I love Patsy's angel wall hanging.
Three D wall hanging.
In August we had a tutorial from Ann Ferris showing how to do pin-less semi paperless machine applique and piecing. She had been to a class/seminar with Sharon Schamber and shared some of what she learned. First she set up her machine and area and demonstrated how to do curved piecing and easy way.
This technique uses two sheets of freezer paper and washable glue with a pinpoint tip.
The seam allowance is ironed down.
Then the seam is glued.
Sorry,  I stopped taking pictures at this point as it was really getting interesting. She completed a New York Beauty block using this technique. Should have gotten more pictures. She sited two books written by Sharon Schamber and her daughter Cristy Fincher "Piece by Piece Machine Applique" and "Piec-lique". I went home and ordered the first title that night and I

Hope to see everyone at the 09/17/2012 meeting.
